Course Description
Students learn the application of cold marble stones in addition to therapeutic treatments with both hot and cold stones. New therapeutic stone shapes in Marble and Basalt are introduced.

A review is presented on the contraindications, care and cleaning of the stones and equipment, and improtant facts like temperature and handling of the stones. Cold marble stone therapy is introduced with lecture and demonstrations.

Release techniques for the Low Back area are taught which includes the Periformis, QL, and Psoas. Shoulder area releases are demonstrated, as well as problem areas in the neck and extremities, like Carpal Tunnel and Plantar Fasciitis.

Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of hot stone massage.

About the Instructor
Patricia Mayrhofer, LMT, founder and President of Nature's Stones, Inc., is a cosmetologist; massage therapist and instructor since 1995, incorporating healing stones into multi-displinary approches of client treatment. She has assembled an experienced network of professionals developing and teaching multiple healing stone therapies in massage and spa treatments, both nationally and internationally. Pat is expanding the teaching of seminars to include more stone protocols as well as many manual seminars.

Pat has served as an adviser on the board of Lehigh Valley College massage therapy program, as a technical adviser for the Pennsylvania Licensing Coalition Committee, the Metal Ware Corporation (Spa-Pro), as well as several other companies in the massage therapy industry.
