This unique seminar goes far beyond the traditional clinical sports massage
training by addressing all of the common medical and orthopedic conditions
found in most clients. Orthopedic Massage involves therapeutic
assessment, manipulation and movement of locomotor soft tissues to reduce
or eliminate pain and dysfunction. A unique multidisciplinary approach
is utilized to restore structural balance throughout the body, which will
allow you to focus on the prevention and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal
dysfunctions, chronic pain and sports injuries. The primary modalities
taught include functional assessment, myofascial release, neuromuscular
therapy, scar tissue mobilization techniques, P.N.F. stretching, neuromuscular
re-education, strengthening, and specific client home care protocols.
The combination of these techniques will allow you to obtain immediate
and permanent results in even the most challenging and complicated clients.

Five-day intensive seminars allow extensive hands on training
in medical and orthopedic massage with emphasis on pain-free movement
and complete structural balance throughout the body. This is the only
seminar that will address the national standards outlined in the applicant's
bulletin for the AMTA's national sports massage exam. Most five-day intensives
will be linked to a national or international sporting event allowing
participants to immediately implement your event sports massage training.
Over 90% of this intensive training program addresses chronic pain and
orthopedic injuries. As with the weekend series, the five-day intensive
seminar places you on our website of preferred practitioners specializing
in the treatment of chronic pain and orthopedic conditions.
The following conditions will be addressed in each five-day
intensive seminar:
plantarfascitis
achilles tendonitis
ankle sprains
anterior lateral shin splints
anterior compartment syndrome
medial and lateral knee pain
patellar tendonitis
chondramalacia
IT band friction
hamstring strains
pelvic stabilization
sciatica
low back pain
cervical injuries
rotator cuff injuries
bicipital tendonitis
thoracic outlet
frozen shoulder
medial and lateral epicondylitis
carpal tunnel syndrome
